Earlier this evening Sony announced via it’s Playstation Twitter account that they would be collaborating with none other than famed Hideo Kojima and his newly formed independent studio, Kojima Productions.

This will be the first title from Kojima Productions and based on the source of the announcement, it’s a safe bet that it will be a Playstation exclusive. This is great news for those disheartened over the recent turmoil between both Hideo Kojima and former employer Konami. Many wondered what Kojima would do after severing ties with Konami and now it seems we have our answer. What new IP could he bring to the Playstation 4, or even the PS Vita? Will he pursue an IP in a similar vein to Metal Gear and Silent Hill, or something else entirely? Only time will tell but this is a huge announcement for both companies.

Ironically, I was just wrapping up a session of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain on my Twitch Channel when I came across the announcement on Twitter.
