Batman: Arkham Knight September Update Trailer is Here!

A new trailer showcasing the September DLC content for Batman: Arkham Knight has been released. The trailer shows off some awesome destruction in the Tumbler Batmobile from Christopher Nolan’s film trilogy and the new GCPD: Lockdown story mission. Players will take on the role as Nightwing to prevent the Penguin’s escape from the GCPD in this all new adventure taking place after the events of Arkham City.

While I’m generally very excited for DLC content after a game’s release, the DLC offerings so far for Batman: Arkham Knight have been less than thrilling. Back in July the DLC Batgirl: A Matter of Family released to lukewarm reviews based on it’s relatively short play time and self contained locations. Judging from the above trailer, my bets are that Nightwing’s foray into Gotham will be limited to only the GCPD building, a shame considering how they could be using the already rich open world of Gotham to tell all sorts of different stories with. If previous DLC from Arkham Knight and earlier Arkham titles is any indication, GCPD: Lockdown will have little to no significance relating to the events that took place in Arkham Knight. I’m not likely to pick this up since I’d rather wait for a “complete edition” that includes all of the DLC, but I’ll be sure to comment on some reviews once they start rolling out next week. Let me know if you plan on grabbing this DLC and if you already played Batgirl: A Matter of Family and what you thought of it.
