GGPO Koming to Mortal Kombat X?

Earlier today Ed Boon @noobde tweeted yet another cryptic message that might suggest GGPO middleware is coming to Mortal Kombat X.

Along with the above image he had this to say: “So much more GOOD news on the horizon for the Mortal Kombat X GAME beyond Kombat Pack 2. Stay tuned, and PEACE OUT!” Shortly thereafter, it was pointed out by @Linky97_ that the first letters of each word in all caps formed the acronym for “Good Game Peace Out.” GGPO is middleware specifically designed to reduce lag in arcade and fighting games, and is used for a variety of existing titles already. While I can’t really complain about my online experience with Mortal Kombat X, any improvement to the online component of the game is a welcome one. Earlier this week Netherrealm Studios released it’s gameplay trailer for Kombat Pack 2, the 2nd DLC pack for Mortal Kombat X. More characters and the possibility of better online code can only be a good thing for the future of Mortal Kombat X.

***UPDATE Ed Boon’s latest tweet seems to more or less confirm the GGPO code coming to Mortal Kombat X, as he’s now highlighted those words that make up the acronym:
